Lesson Notes

01

Inside the Invite Teammate dialog, below the email input section, there is a panel labeled 'Reusable team invite'. This panel works per-role — it shows the invite link and code for whichever role is currently selected in the Role dropdown at the top of the dialog. Switch the Role dropdown to Technician, Admin, Editor, or Project Manager and the panel updates to show that role's link.

02

If no code exists for the selected role yet, the panel displays 'No invite code for this role yet. Click rotate to create one.' Click the circular arrow (Rotate) icon in the panel header to generate the first code. The same Rotate button is used for both creating a new code and rotating an existing one — rotating invalidates the old link instantly and generates a fresh token.

03

Once a code exists, you see two rows: a full invite link (the complete URL at app.vrem.io/invite/[token]) and the raw token code. Each row has a Copy button. Clicking Copy Link copies the full URL to the clipboard with a 'Team invite link copied' toast. Clicking Copy Code copies just the short token string.

04

Share the link with anyone you want to join at that role — post it in a Slack channel, add it to an onboarding document, or include it in a job offer letter. The recipient visits the URL and sees a preview showing your organization name and the assigned role. They click Accept Invitation to join immediately. Unlike email invitations, reusable links do not require you to know the person's email address in advance.

05

To revoke access, click the trash icon in the panel header. This deletes the code and invalidates the link. Anyone who visits the old URL will see 'Invite link is invalid or expired'. You can always generate a new code for the same role afterward by clicking Rotate again.

06

Maintain a separate code per role. If you share a Technician link widely and later want to stop new Technicians joining, delete the Technician code — the Admin and Project Manager codes are unaffected. There is no limit on how many times a single reusable code can be used, so treat the links as semi-public credentials and rotate them after major hiring events.

Key Takeaways

  • Each role has its own independent reusable invite code — switching the Role dropdown in the dialog changes which code is shown.
  • The Rotate button both creates a new code (if none exists) and invalidates the old one to issue a fresh token.
  • Anyone with the link can join at the assigned role without needing a personalized email invitation.
  • Delete a code via the trash icon to instantly block all future joins via that link; existing members are unaffected.
  • Treat reusable links like semi-public credentials — rotate them after bulk hiring drives to prevent unwanted joins.
