Lesson Notes

01

The Account page at /settings/account is the hub for your personal identity in Vremly. Start by uploading a profile picture using the Avatar Uploader — click the camera icon on your current avatar, choose a file, and the image syncs simultaneously to the Vremly backend database and to Clerk (the authentication layer), so your avatar is consistent everywhere, including notification emails. The Name field is editable and saves independently by clicking Save when a change is detected. Your email address is read-only; if you need to change it, contact support.

02

The Home Base card is an important piece of infrastructure that sits below the basic profile fields. It records a physical address for your account — this is the address Vremly uses to score dispatch assignments (technicians closer to a job get priority) and to filter marketplace opportunities. Every account type benefits from setting this, but it is most critical for technicians and providers who travel to shoot locations.

03

For Agent and Provider accounts, the Account Type section lets you switch between Agent (books media services) and Provider (offers media services). Open the dropdown, choose the new type, and confirm in the dialog. This changes which features are available to you across the whole app. If you are already a team member of a company workspace, this section instead shows a read-only card identifying that company — your type is managed by the organization.

04

The Connected Sign-In Methods section lets you link or unlink Google and Facebook as OAuth providers for your account. Linking means you can use 'Sign in with Google' on the login page and be routed to this same account. Click Connect Google or Connect Facebook and complete the OAuth flow in the browser window that opens. Unlinking removes that login method; you will need your email and password to sign in afterward.

05

Preferences live under Settings > Preferences. Appearance lets you choose Light, Dark, or System for the color theme — the change applies immediately across the whole interface. Timezone lets you pick from a list of North American time zones (defaulting to America/Edmonton); this is used wherever Vremly displays scheduled times, so setting it correctly prevents shoot times from appearing in the wrong offset. On the iOS app, Preferences > Appearance & display offers the same light/dark/system toggle plus Compact lists, Haptics, and Confirm destructive actions — all stored locally on the device. These device preferences are independent of your web account settings.

Key Takeaways

  • Profile picture changes sync to both Vremly and Clerk so your avatar appears consistently everywhere.
  • Set your Home Base address — it directly influences dispatch scoring and marketplace job matching.
  • Agent/Provider account type can be toggled from the Account page; switching changes which features are visible across the whole app.
  • Connect Google or Facebook as alternate sign-in methods to make logging in easier without losing your account.
  • Timezone preference controls how scheduled times display throughout the platform — set it to your local zone.
